Hidden Springs Flower Farm and Nursery
If you have been following commercial peony growers at all, you will have come across Harvey Buchite and Hidden Springs Flower Farm. Harvey, along with a partner started a nursery business years ago. It was located just north of the Twin Cities. They moved to SW Minnesota and the following is an excerpt from their site.
Hidden Springs Flower Farm
Hidden Springs Flower Farm is a family owned farm and nursery operated by Brigitte and Harvey Buchite. Although we are known for specializing in peonies we also grow and hybridized and sell; daylilies, hardy perennials, rare and unusual woody and woodland plants. Recently we have added heirloom apples and the new generation of disease resistant apples along with cherries and pears. Located on 54 acres in the beautiful Bluff Country of Southeastern Minnesota in Spring Grove.
Harvey has just announced he is retiring and selling the business. June 30th is the last day to order peonies online for fall shipment. He offers some peonies that are not found elsewhere. Visit his sight and get your order in. He will continue to contribute to peony culture with his expertise knowledge of hybridizing. Some of you have had the opportunity to attend his hybridizing seminars and visit his nursery. Harvey has given many talks, entered flowers in the MPS cut flower exhibitions, been American Peony Society president, donated roots to numerous auctions, acted as auctioneer and has been an ambassador to the peony world for many years.
