Minnesota Peony Society
MPS committees are vital to the structure of the society. Volunteers perform various duties to ensure the activities planned by MPS can be performed to meet the goals of the society. This broadens the outreach to the public and members to continue the interest in peonies among fellow enthusiasts.
MPS is always looking for volunteers to maintain the society. The following are job descriptions for the various committee chair positions that are needed to run the society:
Volunteer Chair: For each event, contacts people to help as needed.

Exhibition Chair(s): Oversees the flower exhibition that is usually held in early June. Can have co-chairs and requires additional chairs.

Clerk Chair: Heads a team of clerks who record flower show results.

Judging Chair: Sets and direct the judging team for the flower show.
Awards Chair: Sets up and distributes awards selected by the judges at flower show.
Classification Chair(s): Makes sure all entries in flower show are correctly entered.

Staging/Setup Chair: Manages the flower show physical layout and staging.

Artistic Design Chair: Handles all aspects of the Artistic Design section of the flower exhibition.

Photography Chair: Handles all aspects of the photo contest section of the exhibition.
Auction Chair: Runs the fall root auction.

Website Chair: Maintains MPS website.
Publicity: Before each event, advertises in appropriate media outlets.
Nominating Committee: Solicits interested and qualified candidates for the board and its officers.
Social Media Chair: Facebook site and other platforms author.
Garden Tours/Picnic Chair: Plans summer event.
Hospitality Chair: Acquires and supplies treats at events.

Speakers Chair: Lines up speaker for educational meeting.
Historian/Librarian: Maintains paper and digital MPS artifacts.
Scientific Studies: Supplies material related to peony culture.
